FRIENDSHIP EVANGELISM CHALLENGE MANUAL
As students you
have the best opportunity to reach your friends. Your peers are
more interested in how Christ affects your life then anybody
else. By living for Christ in your action and attitude before
them, they will want the life changing experience that has
brought you hope. For this reason, we desire every student to
take the Friendship Evangelism Challenge. The Friendship
Evangelism Challenge is a tool to help you reach your friends.
Using a process of steps you move out of your comfort zone into
being a witness for God.
1.
The challenge begins by spending a week in prayer for God
to reveal four friends in which you will target. Taking a week
to pray allows God to reveal the friends He desire you to
target. Take a portion of your day to ask God for guidance and
take time to listen for His voice.
2.
Once your four friends are selected enlist the help of
others to pray. Find at least two adults and one peer to help
you pray for those friends. You can have your own list and help
someone else pray for theirs list also. Give them a copy of
the B.L.E.S.S. profile on your friends.
3.
Use the word B.L.E.S.S. to pray for your friends for
three weeks
- B – Pray
for their physical needs (Body)
- L – Pray
for their school and work needs (Labor)
- E – Pray
for their emotional needs (Emotions)
- S – Pray
for their relationships (Social)
- S – Pray
for their spiritual need (Spirit)
4.
Serve them through acts of kindness during the three
weeks of prayer. Look for opportunities to serve them.
5.
After the three weeks of prayer, tell your friend you
have been praying for them and ask your friend is their anything
you specifically can pray for them about. Write down the prayer
request and give them to the people helping you pray. Take
these needs before the Lord and watch God move.
6.
As their prayers are answered share the gospel with them.
